MAME (an acronym of Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator) is an emulator application designed to recreate the hardware of arcade game systems in software on modern personal computers and other
platforms. The intention is to preserve gaming history by preventing vintage games from being lost or forgotten. The aim of MAME is to be a reference to the inner workings of the
emulated arcade machines; the ability to actually play the games is considered "a nice side effect".
Currently MAME emulates over 11000 games that have been released since the 70's such as Pong, Space Invaders, Donkey Kong, Pacman, Street Fighter and thousands more. All authentic in their
retro graphics and synthesized sound effects. Authentic in every way, except you don't need to insert 20 cents each time you want to play. Simply install it on to your computer or run it directly from
